Hooked, Rooked, and Likin' It.

So finally the inevitable has occurred (yes, W, I know that you will snicker wickedly to yourself and take credit for my slow downhill slide to gamerdom) - I am now to be co-ST-ing a game. Sometime in the next year.

Le Sigh. The Tall Man and I began discussing ideas for running a magic-themed LARP, and it snowballed from there. The system is a loose adaptation of what he's currently using to run Dustbowl Prophets. I goggle enviously at his ability to set up and tweak game systems to affect the flow of play to the tone we desire. Much work must still be done. However, it means that the effort involved in ST-ing will be significantly less than what I'm used to seeing game organizers have to do.

Interest may be appropriately directed to his blog, as that is where most people currently look for game mechanics stuff here in Edmonton anyways.

My brain is mush, for pulling an all-nighter after brainstorming a new game concept = bad. I'm sure that there are other note-worthy events in my life currently, but I don't remember them. Everything else is still at it's usual standard - I haven't done near enough packing for the upcoming move, or job applications as I would like, I have far too many things I want to attend in the next week, and I need a drink. I'm currently debating whether to clean this sty or sleep. For most people this wouldn't even be a question pondered, but I'm neurotic. Hoorah. Everyone can just deal.

Medical aid.

Today has left me 'medically in need of a drink' (in the apt words of a co-worker). Today was the company golf tournament. It left a few unfortunates in the office to hold down the fort. Myself being one of those. It's one thing to be the only person in your department. It's another entirely to be doing the job of three people, with no one even in related departments available or doing any better, on a day when people phone, not with inquiries, but problems that need more time and patience and to be solved.

A co-worker foolishly made the mistake of assuming that I was his beeatch and should jump to help him, regardless of my circumstances. He started correcting me and yelling at me for it when I disagreed with him. He made the mistake of doing this today.

I'm immensely comforted by the fact that I can still pull out the 'reasonable yet rock-hard b*tch' part of me on command. I *like* people generally, and love helping them, but occasionally just don't give a f*ck. Especially with whiny 21-year old children.

mm... alcohol. I am full of the feeling of roomie-love. *^_^*

I am full of the writin' of the letters to people far away, and contemplating doing job stuff. And the contemplatin' of the presents and treasure hunts for small bored children.

Am also contemplatin' more packing and dejunking so I don't have to move as much *stuff*. I have a lot of stuff. I visited a brother the other day and felt great envy at his lack of stuff.

On the plus side though (provided I don't become horribly sick this weekend), I haven't been sick lately. Just sleep deprived. Wheeeeee, with the lack of sleep! I should go find sleep. I need IQ points again.

Lemme see...

With the lollybloggery...

Went to J's housewarming and got to meet her coworkers. Who are hot. Just sayin'. Lots of fun was had, in the sense that we got deja vu of an old folks home. I blame the weather network.

Thanks to said party, I discovered my inner vulgarity again. Apparently it only decides to come out while playing crib. Come play crib with me!

What else? S called me today at work. Due to her unnatura.. ~ahem~ sweet influence, I will now be spending my weekend babysitting medically unusual children. Yay! Weirdly though, I'm sorta looking forward to it. The kids are cute, they sleep early, and I have an excuse for people not to bug me most of the weekend unless I want them to. Hee! Plus, a music collection to pillage. *^_^*

I'm desperately trying to make myself dejunk and clean over the next couple weeks, so I have less stuff to move at the end of the month. I may have to adopt my brother's style of ruthlessness over personal possessions. And find a shredder. Why I need bank statements from five years ago, I will never know.

Finding my inner songbird. Discussions on/hearing S developing vocal skills, and current song lyric obsessions have had me singing. Probably an irritating amount. Even a year ago, I would have found myself mortally embarrassed to be *singing* (not humming, muttering, etc..) while walking down the street if I didn't have an excuse like crazy friends/company or in a freak-the-norms, disturb my neighbors kind of mood. I would say I blame the shameless people here, but I don't think that blame is really the appropriate word. :) Really it isn't.

I game - Dogs in the Vineyard = goodnessy. The tall man is the hatchet-man, I am the bluster/decoy, and D is the creepy zealot one. Hoorah! I have (in character at least), begun to sin. I can't believe how much I've missed having a character to completely screw up! Maybe that's why I hate my wicked public face/roleplaying requiring job - f*cking up that persona immediately leads to unemployment and temporary lack of monies. It's sort of depressing to realize that a lot of my frustration in life is because I'm stuck with a boring character. And by sort of I guess I mean a lot. I'm not sure if this makes me the most pathetic gamer ever, or an ultimate gamer. Maybe both?

Hoping I'm not really re-developing my ulcer of sheer repressed stress/strain.

Leaving for the pursuit of sleep.

Blaming the Wee one:
You Are An INTP

The Thinker

You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can.
Smart and complex, you always love a new intellectual challenge.
Your biggest pet peeve is people who slow you down with trivial chit chat.
A quiet maverick, you tend to ignore rules and authority whenever you feel like it.

In love, you are an easy person to fall for. But not an easy person to stay in love with.
Although you are quite flexible, you often come off as aloof or argumentative.

At work, you are both a logical and creative thinker. You are great at solving problems.
You would make an excellent mathematician, programmer, or professor.

How you see yourself: Creative, fair, and tough-minded

When other people don't get you, they see you as: arrogant, cold, and robotic
